5.00.XX Retiring in 2012
The 5.00.XX versions of Serenic NA/W1 Navigator and HCM will be retiring during the 2012 calendar year. Retired versions are included under our Support plans, but not under our Maintenance plans.

Improvement 1 Release
The Improvement 1 release (6.00.01.00) for North America (NA) has just been deployed and the W1 version will follow in the next four to six weeks. The Upgrade Tool Kit (UTK), which is required for existing Navigator customers to upgrade to Improvement 1, is targeted for release by the end of May. The highlights of the release include:
- BudgetVision is our new budget preparation module, which replaces Budget Planning. BudgetVision is designed to handle a decentralized budget preparation process, allowing for the creation of unlimited subplans based on fund/dimension filters specified by the budget administrator. Additional features that streamline budget preparation include calculations, spread methods, and a multi-level approval process.
- Deposits & Loans is now accessible via the Role Tailored Client, and we redesigned it to significantly enhance the user experience. Three key elements of the redesign are separation of the functionality into two modules (Deposits and Loans, and Investments), the creation of a client-centric view, and task based pages.
- MinistryView is now accessible via the Role Tailored Client.
- Integrated the Dynamics NAV R2 release into our Navigator 6.00.01 release.
- Redesigned the Position Control feature in Payroll and renamed it Position Management and Org Chart.
Portals 3.01 Release
The 3.01 version of Portals for Navigator 6.00.01 will include the introduction of two new portals:
- Budget Center Portal allows users to view the budget subplans they have access to for creating versions, editing, and /or approving. Additionally, they can view Actual vs Budget reports online for their posted budgets.
- DLI is the Deposits/Loans/Investments Portal that allows the client to view their balances, history, and statements for loans, deposit accounts, and investments.
Serenic Releases Navigator 2009
Serenic Navigator 2009 applies Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 technology and functionality to Navigator’s core features with a new User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) through the use of Role Centers that leverage productivity features within the newest Dynamics NAV platform. System enhancements were designed with breakthrough technology innovations that can – within just days of implementing:
- Simplify access to information
- Improve organizational agility
- Streamline integration with a wide range of applications
- Enhance reporting and
- Maximize existing investments in Microsoft products and technologies.
Recently, RSF Social Finance agreed to participate with Serenic in Microsoft's Technology Adoption Program (TAP) for release of Navigator 2009. Now that RSF has experienced the new Navigator 2009, you can read the RSF case study and see how RSF’s employees are benefitting from the system’s great simplicity and new features, including: customized Role Centers, a familiar user interface, improved remote access, and a simplified user experience.

Serenic Releases Navigator 5.00.02
The release of Serenic Navigator 5.00.02 represents the culmination of a “go-deep” strategy announced at Serenic’s Explorations users meeting in October, 2007.
Significant functional enhancements and improvements were made in all areas of the product, including:
- User interface and user experience improvements to Business Rules, Workflow, Approvals, and Interfund Configuration.
- The introduction of new cross-module features: Extended Fields, Dimension Attributes, Entity Integration, and Interaction Management.
- Improved usability and consistency of Distributed Posting throughout the product.
- Expanded Interfund Controls into DonorVision, allowing for either Distributed or Traditional posting.
- Extended Security and Large Notes in CommunityCare.
- Expanded multi-currency functionality to include DonorVision.
- Addition of Cost Matching to AwardVision.
- Completion of approximately 30 enhancements and 75 defect fixes in response to reports from clients, partners, and employees.
